The hype about Marvel’s Black Panther has been building in momentum since the movie’s production begun a while ago. With a stunning black cast including Kenya’s own Lupita Nyong’o, playing roles that do not just consist of sidekick, Kenyan movie fans are in for a treat.
Here are some pictures from the premier held at Prestige Plaza, Nairobi where as you can see some attendees went all out while others lazily borrowed from the style book of David Oyelowo who in his dashiki top and trouser attire was criticised by one of his countrymen for looking “as if he rolled out of bed to rush to the corner bukka to buy akara and agege bread before the woman finishes frying for the morning.”
Like come on guys, your go to African style should consist of more than just this Sh500 dashikis sold at Maasai Market, and two, surely can we have more actors and actresses at local premiers, you know, give them a chance to shine too, anyway, enjoy the pictures :-).
